Hosting a meeting or event in Maui is never a hard sell. The weather is great, the food is fresh, and the beaches are flawless. But reasons to meet here are expanding, as is the meeting space.

Ideally situated on 40 tropically landscaped oceanfront acres along a three-mile stretch of the famed Ka’anapali Beach, Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa boasts an authentic Hawaiian experience. The resort offers 806 guest rooms, including 31 suites, each with a private lanai with panoramic views. In 2016, the resort was awarded an AAA Four Diamond Award for the 21st consecutive year (and if you keep scrolling, you’ll begin to see why).

The resort recently underwent a multi-million renovation and was awarded LEED-EBOM Silver certification, positioning it at the forefront of sustainability in Hawaiian hospitality.

This week, the hotel is debuting its newly renovated Monarchy Ballroom, open-air promenade and other refreshed meeting space, and has invited meeting planners and writers to the island to celebrate the grand reopening.

The wildlife that can be found on the property is incredible–from flamingos and swans to penguins and cockatoos.

A guide took the group on a tour of the property after feeding the penguins in front of an enthused crowd. Guests can watch penguin feedings each morning promptly at 9:30.

 

Located at the resort, Japengo is an incredible sushi restaurant that received a Restaurant of the Year Award at the 2016 Aipono Maui Restaurant Awards. Maui CVB Director of Sales Randy Parker joined us there for breakfast to tell us about everything exciting that’s happening on the island and at Hyatt.

Lunch in the Palace Suite showed off the beautiful space connected to the meeting rooms, making it a perfect guest room for a CEO planning to host receptions before or after larger events. The resident Chef Jeff also had a chance to show off his culinary skills with a massive salade nicoise lunch.

 

Maui’s only oceanfront, 15,000 square-foot luxury spa and fitness center offer breathtaking views of the coastline. The spa hosted a dessert reception in the gorgeous ocean-facing relaxation lounge, where fruits and other treats were served fondue-style with champagne. As part of a new “Taste Makers” program to incorporate local flavors, glasses of champagne were topped off with delicious fruit mixes, courtesy of Maui Shrub Farm.

 

The family-friendly resort also boasts an elaborate water playground with tropical streams and waterfalls, two waterslides, an adults-only infinity pool, free-form pool, Grotto Bar and more.

Other amenities include championship golf, three tennis courts, SCUBA and water sports, four restaurants and lounges, shopping, and over 100,000 sq. f.t of indoor and outdoor function space.
