Five Employees You Want on Your TeamJayson DeMers, founder & CEO of AudienceBloom, a Seattle-based content marketing & social media agency, believes there are five types of employees that successful organizations should seek to recruit:

The Initiator
This employee doesn’t show up just because of a paycheck. He or she is highly motivated and passionate about the company’s mission. The Initiator doesn’t wait for direction—he or she eagerly suggests new ideas and projects, and sets a tone of independence for the rest of the organization.

The Positive Agent
The Positive Agent arrives with a smile, and remains calm and optimistic in moments of crisis. Negativity in the workplace can be toxic; spreading from person to person and lowering morale. Add several Positive Agents to the team, and good vibes will be disseminated in much the same way.

The Backup
The Backup willingly goes out of his/her way to help other people in the organization, even if they work in another department. With a strong sense of teamwork and camaraderie, The Backup inspires employees to help one another, even if it requires them to step out of their comfort zones.

The Goal-Getter
The Goal-Getter is a highly motivated and thrives on challenges. Lofty sales quotas or tight deadlines push them to do their best. They drive other team members to reach for individual or collective goals, and generate excitement in the workplace.

The Voice
The Voice is the employee who isn’t afraid to provide feedback and express his/her honest opinion—pro or con. The Voice encourages others in the organization to be similarly open, which makes for a more dynamic workplace.
