From April 11 to 15, more than 8,000 professionals and leaders in liquefied natural gas (LNG) met in Perth, Australia, for the 18th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG 18). The conference, which was held at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre (PCEC), was attended by the current prime minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull, and other influential public sector leaders.

LNG 18 claimed an impressive lineup of industry leaders as speakers, including CEOs from major corporations such as Shell and Chevron. The conference also boasted amazing food and beverage, entertainment and experiences, including offsite technical tours to Australia’s largest oil and gas development, gourmet Australian cuisine and photo opportunities with a koala or baby kangaroo.

In spite of a few challenges, the exhibition was a smashing success. Attendees praised the venue’s modern design, the freshness of the food and the quality of the speakers and entertainment. Here are a few of the ways organizers Arinex and Exhibitions and Trade Fairs made LNG 18 great.

LNG 18 kicked things off with a powerful start that made a lasting impression—an elegant evening welcome reception, traditional smoking ceremony and an inspiring speech from Prime Minister Turnbull.
To create enough space for the event, organizers transformed a parking lot into a beautiful, seated dining area that included an atrium, a series of food stations and a temporary kitchen.
To broaden the event’s reach around the globe, Arinex marketed LNG 18 at major LNG events in the United States, Russia and France.
PCEC hosted 160 exhibitors from 30 countries in a 124,000-square-foot area, creating an intimate and easy-to-navigate exhibition space.
The program included three networking events and three “Thought Leadership Lunches,” which gave attendees the opportunity to connect with visionaries such as the Australian foreign minister, Julie Bishop.
