Experience Columbus welcomed Gibson as director of Washington, D.C., regional sales. He’ll work remotely out of the nation’s capital, where he’ll focus on booking conferences requiring more than 550 rooms. Gibson’s accounts will include professional associations and corporations located in Washington, D.C., Maryland and all government. Gibson most recently worked for Caesars Entertainment in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He’s a member of PCMA Capital Chapter and MPI Potomac Chapter.
Casa Velas in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, named Zaragoza hotel manager of Small Luxury Hotels of the World property. She been with Velas Resorts since 2010, most recently as director of groups and conventions at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. Zaragoza has also worked for other luxury brands—The St. Regis, W Hotels and JW Marriott in Mexico City.
Te Pae, Christchurch Convention Centre, which will open in New Zealand in 2020, hired Officer as director of sales. She was previously director of sales for conventions and out-catering for SkyCity in Auckland. Officer has also worked at Wellington Convention Centre and The Edge, Auckland Convention Centre.
Benchmark, a global hospitality company, appointed Height director of catering and conference services at Delta Hotels Marriott Watters Creek Convention Center, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property. The new hotel and convention center is scheduled to open in January in Allen, Texas, which is north of Dallas. Height previously oversaw incentive travel programs and meetings as an account manager for Galactic Performance Solutions in Arlington, Texas. She was also conference services manager for Adolphus Hotel in Dallas.
Plott joined HelmsBriscoe’s Florida team as regional vice president. He was previously director of sales at Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. Plott has also worked for Universal Orlando Resort, Loews Hotels and Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando. He’s a member of MPI, PCMA and Financial & Insurance Conference Planners.
NYC & Company announced Roush as managing director of marketing. Prior to this role, Roush spent eight years as vice president of insights and marketing at AKA, where she worked on the accounts of major Broadway shows. Her credits also include Broadway.com.
Mammana joined NYC & Company as senior vice president of marketing. She was previously vice president of marketing for Patina Restaurant Group, where she oversaw marketing at restaurants in New York City and Orlando. Patina’s eateries are in such landmarks as The Metropolitan Opera, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, Macy’s Herald Square, Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs.
