JetBlue is the next airline to dip its wings into the hotel business. But unlike Virgin’s new Chicago hotel, the JetBlue property only takes reservations from its employees. The Lodge at the Orlando Support Center was built specifically for crewmembers visiting the carrier’s Orlando headquarters and training facility. The 196-room property, designed like an airport terminal, will operate as a boutique hotel in partnership with the Pyramid Hotel Group.
The hotel’s amenities include a 24-hour, 2,000 sq. ft. gym; walking track; outdoor fire pit seating area; basketball court, soccer fields, saltwater pool and onsite restaurant and bar. Around 7,000 employees visit the support center every year for new-hire orientation and regular training.
